In the coming noir-style film, aptly named “Hotel Noir,” singer Mandy Moore plays a “desperate young housewife” whose sole mission is to seduce Danny DeVito. Although she was only on set for one day and her role is confined to a single scene, Moore said the experience was “just amazing.”
“The scene is comically charming but not silly, a fine difference,” the singer said at Bar Marmont. Moore turned up to sample the wine of Clos Du Bois, who premiered a new red blend called Rouge.
Moore is also in the process of writing a new record with her husband of three years, Ryan Adams.
“It felt like a no-brainer,” said Moore. “I’m not trying to play a different role but with him I get a different sound, a different way of writing and I like that.”
Moore said that her album was going to focus on the transition from single to married life, especially when it comes to the home.
Her last album, “Amanda Leigh” was released in 2009, just after she wed Adams. Since then, she’s recorded songs for the film “Tangled” and starred as Mara in the TV series “TRON: Uprising.”
